It is a truth universally acknowledged that a beer geek in possession of a love for hops must be in want of a Stone IPA. The masterminds at Stone Brewing Company have produced legions of wonderful beers that are liquid love letters to the wonders of hops. Their latest missive is a smooth drinking, vaguely floral “session” IPA called Stone Go To IPA. This beer drinks like a fresh hopped IPA poured directly from the tap but it is available by the bottle. Like a perfect summer day, the Go To IPA invites the drinker to laze in its bright and bold presence. I can’t decide if its floral summery aroma makes me think of citrus groves or pine woods. Either way, it tastes like summer. Turn on the grill, grab a Frisbee (or a hammock) and a Go To IPA. With a shockingly low 4.5% alcohol by volume you can even grab two.
